Milestones in the history of MIAVIT GmbH

1948
Dr. Hans W. Niemeyer starts as a veterinary surgeon specialised on animal feeds in Bevern near Cloppenburg, north-west Germany.

1960
The young company starts producing premixes for the feed industry.

1972
Dr. Niemeyer gives up his work as a veterinary surgeon starting to focus on the production of premixes and mineral feed. He changes his company´s name to MIAVIT GmbH & Co. KG.

1991
MIAVIT moves to a new larger production plant in Essen (Oldb.).

1994
The quality management of MIAVIT receives certification to DIN EN ISO 9001 and one year later the certification to the dutch GMP.

1998
Extension of the firm area by the building of a new warehouse.

2001
Expansion and renewal of the production-steering and -technique

2002
Start of the choline chloride production. The quality management of MIAVIT receives certification to HACCP, GMP+, Q&S and for products of ecological agriculture.

2004
The new production line is finished in February. So MIAVIT has two totally separate production lines!
MIAVIT starts the production for the food industry!

2007
The MIAVIT GmbH takes over the Lutavit-Blend section (high vitamin concentrates) of the BASF AG.

2008

MIAVIT buys the spanish animal nutrition premix business from BASF and the production plant located in the industrial complex of Tarragona, Spain.

Today ...
... MIAVIT has about 180 staff members achieving an annual turnover of approx. 90 Mio. € (2010). The plant in Tarragona (Spain) has about 23 staff members and they generate a turnover of around € 14 million.
