Zinc is a component of numerous enzyme systems and therefore of immense importance for the vitality and immunity of pigs.  In the intestine zinc oxide has a positive influence on the microbial eubiosis, an adstringent and healing effect.

The problem:

Zinc from zinc oxide reacts with the stomachs hydrochloric acid to form zinc chloride. This zinc chloride will quickly be resorbed and may not function as zinc oxide in the smal and large intestine.

The solution:

Zinkosan^® is an acid-proof trace element premix with zinc oxide. It releases zinc oxide due to a change of the pH value at first in the small and large intestine and improves therewith intestine immunity as well as the eubiosis of the intestine microorganisms.

In piglet and pre-fattening feeding the use of Zinkosan^® is proven since several years now. But also in sows Zinkosan^® can convince:

• Zinkosan^® leads to the formation of a stable intestine flora and it so minimises the risk of diarrhoea in piglets and fattening pigs.
• Zinkosan^® is regulating the composition of the intestine flora and antagonise so against undesired pathogens like clostridia and E. coli.
